Drugs in Vegas are four talented teenagers from the north-eastern suburbs who play an exciting and refreshing brand of indie pop that well and truly belies their age.

Beginning life as Drugs in Vegas back in 2006, the band has consistently pushed the limits both within their local communities and throughout Melbourne, finding new places to play and people to entertain, and being 110% dedicated to having fun.

Performances at Click Click (a strong supporter of up and coming bands), Eltham Festival and 'Rock The Hill' (where they finished a clear first in a 'Push Start' battle of the bands) in particular have been highly regarded by many of their peers and older punters as well. They've received airplay on SYN FM's 'The Low Down' and are truly looking forward to working further with local and independent radio stations as they continue to make a name for themselves across the state.

One of the most exciting and promising things about the band is their focus on the softer, more introspective side of indie pop made popular by songwriters such as Benjamin Gibbard (Death Cab for Cutie) and Andrew Kenny (American Analog Set), rather than the raucous indie rock-and-roll output of bands like Arctic Monkeys or the Killers. This gives them a very clear and structured sound that is certainly a far cry from many of their peers, and can be heard clearly on the tracks from their promo EP.

On May 27th 2007, Drugs in Vegas will be releasing their debut self-titled album, the follow up to their self released 'Morphine' EP, which included stellar live favourites 'Let Me Brush You Off' and 'You Live Too Far Away'. Recorded between November '06 and March '07 at various local studios, the album is expected to help the band gain exciting new experiences both in their live show and in support of the album.

If you remember one name this year – let it be Drugs in Vegas. Not only is it a terrific and catchy name, the band is just as exciting live and on record. Be sure to keep your eyes and ears open for more on these young guns!

Info:
Dollarhyde formed early in 2006 as a 4-piece band. They began playing there first gigs (Fruitbowl, Rock The Hill & FIAB) and gained experience about the local scene and made many friends amongst bands the bands they met.

After a few gigs Eli Menezes came along and took interest in our band and began producing them.

The band then formed a new sound and approach and made a 2-track demo.
With a 2-track taster, Dollarhyde are now in the process of writing enough songs to form a set and to get back onto the stage. After a few shows, they'll be recording an EP.
